Source : Yahoo AnswersQuestion : Do you think i have psychic ability?

I think i might have this ability to predict death of a loved one…
I predicted the death of Michael jackson (i don’t know why though because he wasn’t a loved one)
and he was the first death i predicted. I was in the car and started to get a big lump in my throat as you do sometimes before you are going to cry. It was around 2 or 3 Pm and i thought to myself something bad is going to happen today i just know it. Then sure enough… now he’s dead.

I also predicted the death of my great grandma. She was very old and a little while before she passed she had a stroke that is very rare to live through and she lost all her memory from the passed 8 months. She died piecefully in her sleep at around 3 am. that night i was up late, and around 2 or 3 am i heard a story of one of my friends cat almost died, and a little after i heard it my stomach dropped i got a lump in my throat and i bursted out crying. At first i thought it was because of the cat, but the next morning my mom gave me the news and i asked “what time do you think she passed” she told me 3 am. I thought to myself.. again? How could i again?

Then today i woke up at 3 this morning and couldn’t fall back to sleep and around 6 am i started getting that gut feeling and the lump in my throat and thinking “what if dad died today?” with it being fathers day i thought that to be a weird question to ask. So i bursted out crying and kept praying to god and to my fathers dad and my great grandma asking them to not take my father away. I went down stairs to ask my mom to take me to my dads house (I’m 11 and my parents are divorced) and she of course said no because of the time. I kept praying and praying but finally felt a little better and stopped. Around 3 Pm I felt the lump in my throat again and went back to my room to pray. Around 4 pm i left to see my dad. He was at the beach totally fine but kinda seemed stressed and a little scared so i asked him what was wrong and he said he was fine. but later he finally told me “i almost died today” my stomach dropped in shock and he continued ” i was diving off a pier at the beach looking for fish in the rocks so we could go fishing and i felt tired and started to breath in some water and then blacked out… but the next thing i know im hanging on to a rock with just a few scrapes..” he also said he asked if the girl he was with saw what happened and asked if anyone had helped him and she answered no to both of the questions….

im just wondering do you think that this whole thing with the praying and the deaths is just a coincidence or do you really think i have a gift …

1) You didn’t predict Michael Jackson’s death. You predicted,”Something bad is going to happen today,” which is vague enough to be right all the time because bad things happen every day.

2) Seems like you’re denying the obvious or rewriting history. If you cried in reaction to a cat dying, then the cat dying was the cause of your sadness.

3) Your dad didn’t die. He lived. Wasn’t your prediction false? A true prediction would have been “Dad will have a close brush with death.”

Beware of confirmation bias, emphasizing only times your hypothesis appears to be true. How many times have you made predictions that didn’t come true? What percentage of the time are your predictions accurate? What percentage are they not?

Source : Yahoo AnswersQuestion : Do you believe there’s actually real psychics out there?

My neighbor does and she say’s there’s so many people out there and I wouldn’t doubt it if there’s really real psychics out there, fake ones as well.

I think it just depends on the person! A lot of them are fake but some of them are real. I think it just depends where you’re seeing one.

Which is true! I saw one that was fake but the other was pretty accurate with some stuff and it came true.

What’s your opinion on that?
there’s to many unseen forces like ” Bigfoot” and “aliens” and so many planets out there that probably have living creatures over there.
Just like people believe in angels etc……….
But isn’t that being closed minded if you think all of them are fake because in all reality everyone person is different, what makes you think there isn’t people out there who have some special gift.

I have seen telekinese people before!

Every person functions differently. Sorry. I have to agree with my neighbor! What if this person new nothing about you, did readings without you telling them anything about you.

Don’t you think that’s pretty creepy?
@ Tony. The one I saw online was pretty accurate about my sister hiding a box underneath her bed which is the picture of the 2 of you. Your sister wants to be close to you but she’s not.

After I had this reading a month ago me and my sister barley even talk at all, we constantly fight.
@ tony because you’re judging all psychics when some could be possibly real. Psychics are known to be frauds but what happens when one of these day’s you end encountering one that isn’t a fraud. It’s just a matter of opinion.

kinda like.. people think that just because someone has a tramp stamp they assume they’re a hoe when it’s just something the media made up.

No.
All psychics are frauds or crazy.

Psychics are purveyors of a wicked plot

“Six things there are, which the Lord hateth, and the seventh His soul detesteth: haughty eyes, A LYING TONGUE, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that deviseth wicked plots, feet that are swift to run into mischief, A DECEITFUL WITNESS THAT UTTERETH LIES, AND HIM THAT SOWETH DISCORD AMONG BRETHREN.”
Prov 6:16-19

List of things which don’t exist:

Psychics.
Bigfoot.
Aliens.
Angels.

And, ANYONE can fake being a ‘psychic’:

Cold reading is a series of techniques used by mentalists, psychics, fortune-tellers, illusionists, and con artists to determine or express details about another person, often in order to convince them that the reader knows much more about a subject than they actually do.[1] Without prior knowledge of a person, a practiced cold reader can still quickly obtain a great deal of information about the subject by analyzing the person’s body language, age, clothing or fashion, hairstyle, gender, sexual orientation, religion, race or ethnicity, level of education, manner of speech, place of origin, etc. Cold readers commonly employ high probability guesses about the subject, quickly picking up on signals from their subjects as to whether their guesses are in the right direction or not, and then emphasizing and reinforcing any chance connections the subjects acknowledge while quickly moving on from missed guesses.

No.

I believe that some people genuinely THINK that they’re psychic – usually because they have become quite good at reading others, which is of course not at all a supernatural skill.

You ask a really tricky question because 99/100 of so called psychics operate as con artists.

There once was a psychic imperious
On matters of spirit delirious:
She would often confess
To nine past lives, no less,
And more when the drink made her serious!

I don’t think they are real. Psychics never make very specific predictions. They say, “ok it is someone who’s names has an R in it.” By the law of averages, someone is going to get it right half the time when you are vague. Then they just point to the times they are right. I have never known a person that did not know about a situation to be right about specific details. Like you will never hear a psychic say. “In 2 months you will meet a man named John Edward Person who is a dentist living in St Clair NY. He is 32 years old and you will marry him.” That never ever happens, and if a psychic does say something of that detail they will be wrong. Sorry.

If they can truly tell the future or sense things, then why not be very specific, why is it always so vague.

Do it, go to many different ones and ask very specific questions about things, they will squirm like a worm. You will never ever find one.

PS. you forgetting one thing, law of averages, and those are not specific, that is vague again. I doubt you are being honest about the things she did not get right.
