psychic mediums

Source : Yahoo AnswersQuestion : Is it right by God for christians to seek the advice of fortune tellers and psychics?

What does the Bible about psychics and mediums and is it right for us to be seeking advice from such people? Do you agree with these verses in the Bible?

lev 20:6….As for the soul who turns himself to the spirit mediums and the professional foretellers of events so as to have immortal intercourse with them, I shall certainly set my face against that soul and cut him off from among his people

lev 19:31…Do not turn yourself into spirit mediums, and do not consult professional foretellers of events, so as to be unclean by them. I am Jehovah Your God.

Where do psychics get their knowledge from?

lev 19:31
@Chi Girl, you are sadly mistaken, because Jehovah is very much in there, look up the definition of Jehovah in a dictionary or encyclopedia for that matter.

Yes it is. I read tarot cards and these folks keep me in business.

Answer by Anthony
Its against Christianity to believe in superstition because you are undermining God.

Answer by Mouse
Sure, imaginary crap is imaginary crap, whether it’s the Abrahamic god or fortune telling. It’s all hocus pocus.

Answer by Chi girl
No. And there’s no “Jehovah” in the Bible — not in the Old Testament, not in the Septuagint (OT translation to Koine Greek), not in the Koine Greek New Testament (source of all translations).

Answer by Chase
God says your not to know your future onless he is to tell you nobody else. They probably get their knowledge from the devil to work against God stay away from that stuff.

Answer by Bobby Jim
True psychics get their knowledge from the dark side of the spirit realm, aka Satanic forces. Why go to a psychic at all? If you are a Christian, pray that the Lord would supply you with a filling of the Holy Spirit.

Answer by Elegua!
Yeah, it’s fine, don’t sweat it.

Answer by Clara
2 cor 11:14 gives you the answer… if you need further information talk to a jehovah witness, they can answer any question you have with the bible… and Jehovah does appear in the bible.. i bought one at ross and it said it in psalms 83:18.. 🙂

How could someone not agree with the Bible?

The world seems to prefer the King James Version translation of the Bible. So Chi Girl, get yourself a copy of the new King James Bible named “The Divine Name King James Bible’ You can also read it on line. They have put Jehovah’s name back in this new translation.

Answer by StraightArrow
Fortune tellers and psychics are entertainers – they get paid for their nonsense. No rational person would ever believe them.

For Christians, no.

Christians should not seek advice from such people.
@@The book of Leviticus teaches the Israelites how to live holy lives. Verse 31 in chapter 19 of Leviticus is one instruction that the LORD told Moses to give to the entire community of Israel. The Israelites must be holy because the LORD their God is holy. Leviticus 19: 31 (NLT) “Do not defile yourselves by turning to mediums or to those who consult the spirits of the dead. I am the LORD your God.”
@@Chapter 20 of Leviticus deals with punishments for disobedience. Leviticus 20: 6 (NLT) “I will also turn against those who commit spiritual prostitution by putting their trust in mediums or in those who consult the spirits of the dead. I will cut them off from the community.” What this verse means —– Do not look to mediums or spirits of the dead for advice because God is not the source of their information. At worst, mediums are in contact with evil spirits. The ability of fortune-tellers can come from evil spirits. Christians should not believe in superstition by thinking that they can foretell future events by communicating with the spirits.

Answer by Nicholas
Not per se as this is considered divination and necromancy. The vast majority of psychics get their info from cold or hot readings. Some who say they are psychic just have good intuition. Some who say the dead talk to them, excluding the delusional, might be under demonic attack or it might be a guardian angle telling you to do something odd like wait a few seconds after a light turns green and then a car runs the red light and would of hit you if you hadn’t waited. Now there are some spiritual gifts, prophesy and divination of spirits, that can be seen as psychic abilities. These gifts are extremely rare and they are not always “on,” but only when God thinks you need them as when receiving a revelation or discerning the true nature of a spiritual being.

I personally believe that a grieving family member might be visited by their deceased love one if God decides that it will help relieve the suffering of the family member, but this only lasts as long as God deems it.

Source : Yahoo AnswersQuestion : Is there a psychic or medium reality tv show?

I got my first tv cable in years, a few months ago. Since then, I have been searching psychic reality tv show but found none. I am fascinated in tv shows involving with spirit experts contacting dead loved ones or experts who claim to have gifts of seeing and communicating with angels. If you know one such show that is good, please drop me a line. Thanks.

Answer by Dromo Ocquaye
yes its on tlc its called long island medium .if my memory serves.

Answer by susan
That would be hard to do since television is so visual and spirit people are usually not ones to appear on cue.

You might want to consider gaining an understanding of your own gifts so you can live that reality!

I’d like an honest, no fake, medium or psychic to tell me my future free of charge. I’d also like somebody to tell me about absent relatives, tell me what they know and if they are ok. I would be really greatful.

Answer by Hippie ♥ Chick ↖∞ΐΩ §ǻЙ ÎŁλ∞↗
Even if there were psychics or mediums on here, most usually need to be in some form of contact with you to have a better reading.
Also, for them to do all of that…it would be mentally draining.
Just saying….

Answer by eri
Nope, for the simple reason that no one has ever, in the history of the world, been able to prove they can actually tell the future. They’re just making it up. Every single time. If you want to find out how your relatives are, ask them. If you want your future to turn out a certain way, go out and make it happen for yourself.

Answer by Jasmine Lavie
I get the feeling that if I tell you about your relatives, you wouldn’t like the answer. You’re probably prying in things you shouldn’t.

Just curious, but would you happen to have blond and/or curly hair? (Even if you don’t, the upper part still stands.)

Answer by The Dragon
I am psychic! I can totally sense ghost and tell when something really big is about to happen! I can tell you that you will find joy in what you love doing but never new you loved doing until you tried doing it. That’s all that I can really see right now, because I am just learning to control my abilities. I can’t tell you what it is that you are going to love doing, but I do know that you will find out in the next 3 to 5 months.

Answer by believer_in_jesus37421
I sincerely hope you won’t seek advice from anyone who claims to be able to foretell the future. At best, such claims are fraudulent and you will only be wasting your money; at worst, you could find yourself entangled with occult spiritual powers that will deceive and harm you.

This is why the Bible repeatedly warns us against any type of occult practice. The ancient world was filled with all kinds of superstitions and occult practices, but God’s people were warned not to let themselves be influenced by them. The Bible says, “Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist, or who consults the dead” (Deuteronomy 18:10-11).

Instead, I urge you to turn to God and seek His will for your future. God loves you; He loves you so much that He sent His only Son into the world to give His life for your salvation. Why not trust your life into His hands? By a simple prayer of faith ask Christ to forgive your past and come into your life today.

Then commit your future into His hands. I can’t promise all your problems will suddenly go away—but I do know this: It’s far better to face the future with God than without Him. Don’t follow the wrong path in life, but follow Christ instead. You’ll never regret it.

Psychic Medium Maureen Hancock Brings Messages from Beyond

Written by HEYOKA

The Heyókȟa symbolize and portray many aspects of the sacred, the Wakȟáŋ. Their satire presents important questions by fooling around. They ask difficult questions, and say things others are too afraid to say. By reading between the lines, the audience is able to think about things not usually thought about, or to look at things in a different way.

Principally, the Heyókȟa functions both as a mirror and a teacher, using extreme behaviors to mirror others, thereby forcing them to examine their own doubts, fears, hatreds, and weaknesses. Heyókȟas also have the power to heal emotional pain; such power comes from the experience of shame—they sing of shameful events in their lives, beg for food, and live as clowns. They provoke laughter in distressing situations of despair and provoke fear and chaos when people feel complacent and overly secure, to keep them from taking themselves too seriously or believing they are more powerful than they are.
