Barry Gray psychic medium – Gives a psychic reading to Cameron

Source : Yahoo AnswersQuestion : Is Sylvia Browne indicative of all psychics?

I wanted to ask this seeing as Sylvia Browne is yet again in the news with egg on her face. This woman is the biggest charlatan. I was wondering though about everyone experiences with psychics or mediums and what you opinions about their abilities or lack thereof are…

Answer by The Architect
I do not care for them. Gifted or not their help only hinders one’s growth. All that one needs is in their soul.

Leviticus 19:31
“Do not turn to mediums or necromancers; do not seek them out, and so make yourselves unclean by them: I am the Lord your God.”

Sylvia Browne is a unique individual, and by no means represents the entirety of psychic or gifted individuals.

Channellers, mediums and such, have an ability that other psychics don’t have.
Some psychics can feel or read energy, others are clairvoyant, or clairaudient, or clair sentient or….

Some people train and train and hone their gifts, others are born with them and take them for granted. Most of us don’t write books, advertise or market ourselves for fame or fortune.

I for one don’t like to be grouped in with any particular field, belief system or anything.
My answer is No…she is not.
Jesus however was one of the greatest psychics that has ever walked this planet in the last 2000 or so years. (and yet…time is a non issue).

Edit: Architect… keep the faith. Please know I see your light.

Sylvia Brown was destined for making the connections that lead her to where she is.

She told the parents of a kidnapped child that he was dead, which caused them terrible anguish. It turned out that the child was alive and he was recovered. She is indeed a charlatan, and an uncaring one at that. The whole area of psychics and mediums is full of frauds and maybe self-deluded people. The usual criticism is that they are doing “cold readings”, meaning that they keep talking and get information out of their subjects by leading them on. I am sure that is true in many cases. I always thought that about John Edward.

However, I do think there are may be a few who actually are legitimately able to practice some sort of ESP. The Long Island Medium is one. I’ve watched a lot of her shows and I’m always impressed with how she can come up with very specific information without leading the subjects on first. She describes details about the dead relatives that are way too specific to be guessed, and many times they surprise the people who she is doing the reading for. In her case, though, I am not sure that she is actually channeling spirits. One thing I have noticed is that she can not tell the subjects anything they do not already know. She can tell them about the dead people and what they were like and things they said but she can’t tell them where granpa hid his cash or, more importantly, she can not tell a grieving parent why a child committed suicide. She says something general, like “I think this was a mistake, and your daughter acted too impulsively” or some such thing. I have a suspicion that what is realliy happening is that she is receiving the thoughts of the living people and thinking they come from the dead ones. If that is true, It is still a psychic ability that can’t be explained by normal science.

I also saw a tv show about a psychic in England who was working with police to solve a murder and was able to provide some specific information that she could not have known. She located the general area where the killer lived and the murder had taken place, and also said that the body had been buried under water. It turned out she was right on all counts. The body had been buried under a pool. I don’t see any way that she could have come up with all this except through ESP.

No,I’m sure there are legitimate people with real abilities.Even the CIA employed remote viewers for a time, and some nations still do.That is good evidence that psychic ablity is real.I just hope Sylvia Brown gets sued or something. She has no right to lie to people and torment them.

In a reading you may want to ask about:

A loved one who has passed (I am often visited by spirits and angels) “Can you tell me if my Auntie is with us?” Does my mother have a message for me?”
Love and romance. “Does my boyfriend really love me?” ” Will we marry?” “When will I meet my true Love?”
Family. “I have trouble getting along with my mother-in-law. Why doesn’t she like me?” My daughter is struggling right now.”
Career. “Will I change jobs soon?” “Will I get the promotion?”
Pets: “Where is my lost cat?” “Why does my dog look so sad?”
Past lives: “Did I know my boyfriend in a past life?”
Guides: “Tell me about my guides.”
Health. “How can I get more energy?” “Why am I so stressed out?”
Spiritual growth. “I think I am gifted. Do you see these gifts?” “Why am I at a stuck point?”

General advice comes as naturally to me as answers to specific questions.
