psychic mediums

Source : Yahoo AnswersQuestion : Need opinions: Who/what do you think psychics and mediums are?

So my friends just got a reading from a reputable medium who accurately described and named people from her life. I have no doubt there are authentic psychics and mediums out there. But I am concerned about who they are and where they get their power from. How is it possible for people to have such powers? Is it part of the occult? Are they just born that way and why? What does everyone think?

***I have no doubt there are authentic psychics and mediums out there.***

Sorry, they’re all con artists and/or disturbed people. There have been many books and documentaries on the techniques they use to dupe people into believing their “abilities.” It’s well documented. Look it up.

Unfortunately, there are too many disagreements to actually have a reliable answer with empirical evidence.

What are they? Frauds. Some conscious, some self-deluded.
Where do they get their power from? From the people who believe their illusions.
How is it possible? Simple, it’s not.
Are they born that way? They’re born just the same as you and me.

You and your friend be very very careful, there are those who tell but they are accults, those who are godly like prophets and who tell but like in witch craft.even the demonic ones have powers too to watch out who is send from God!And dont pay anybody so they can tell you,if they are from God ,God does not charge you.

most are frauds and they use cold readings to trick people. People never realize they are giving away information either. Have you ever heard someone go on raving about how horrible this medium was? No? Thats because nobody makes a big deal of it, people expect them to be wrong. So a medium does like 50 people and gets 1 right and its the only one you hear about. Scam artists!

Answer by God’s servant

they use demons

Act 16:16 And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:
Act 16:17 The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.
Act 16:18 And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.

Evil that preys on weak and lost souls, needing assurance and a false place to be.

If you truly believe in God, he will guide you, without using mediums/psychics used to distort money.

Scam artists…

You do understand that Google is open for everyone to use and that in under 5 min’s, I can pull up your whole family tree, right?

Psychics are either knowingly scamming money from you or are so delusional that they convince themselves that they actually have magic powers.

Cold Reading is VERY VERY easy to learn…

Let your friend look back at her reading in a few days and she will start to realize that the “Psychic” was way more vague and she gave away far too many responses and way more info than she initially thought.

Phonies, just like the televangelists.

Accurately described people from her life?

Well, I have a crystal ball right here. Let’s see…….. you have someone in your life you care about, with the initial “M” or is it “L?” This person has some mixed feelings for you, and is having some financial difficulties.

Someone close to you has died, and you miss them. They want you to know that everything’s all right.

Sound familiar?

Answer by Sky Chumbly
Yeah, they’re frauds, because if I can’t see it, then it cannot possibly exist. (My senses define reality.)

Answer by You
I wouldn’t worry about psychics as much as I would getting to a psychiatrist and having yourself screened for schizophrenia.

Answer by Stupid Idiot
hallucinations have always been a part of the spirit world when it comes to us actually.

Shamanism has been proven to be passed down actually, through bloodlines at times, now how is that possible exactly?

Im a diagnosed schizoaffective, it was spirits the whole time. Bad ones. You know the ones? The ones who rule this earth? Everyone seems to love them. I can see why, lies.

Psychic Medium Shelly Frey Private Reading Session July 15, 2012

Written by HEYOKA

The Heyókȟa symbolize and portray many aspects of the sacred, the Wakȟáŋ. Their satire presents important questions by fooling around. They ask difficult questions, and say things others are too afraid to say. By reading between the lines, the audience is able to think about things not usually thought about, or to look at things in a different way.

Principally, the Heyókȟa functions both as a mirror and a teacher, using extreme behaviors to mirror others, thereby forcing them to examine their own doubts, fears, hatreds, and weaknesses. Heyókȟas also have the power to heal emotional pain; such power comes from the experience of shame—they sing of shameful events in their lives, beg for food, and live as clowns. They provoke laughter in distressing situations of despair and provoke fear and chaos when people feel complacent and overly secure, to keep them from taking themselves too seriously or believing they are more powerful than they are.
