Question : Why in most religions are the male virgins seen as being closer to god?
How can an ejaculation make god decide to abandon you in favour of another celibate mystic, priest or monk?
Seems pretty ridiculous.
Answer by CERBERUS
Women are seen as a distraction. ask any guy whats on his mind when he’s in love. I don’t think its god.
Answer by Lost D’game
Because destruction of life is sin, 111 million potential babies are killed with each ejaculation, I have destroyed billions upon billions of lives. More evil than Hitler, I am.

A monk (from Greek: μοναχός, monachos, “single, solitary”) is a person who practices religious asceticism, living either alone or with any number of monks, whilst always maintaining some degree of physical separation from those not sharing the same purpose. The concept is ancient and can be seen in many religions and in philosophy.
In the Greek language the term can apply to men or women; but in modern English it is in use only for men, while nun is used for female monastics.
Although the term monachos (“monk”) is of Christian origin, in the English language it tends to be used analogously or loosely also for both male and female ascetics from other religious or philosophical backgrounds.
The term monk is generic and in some religious or philosophical traditions it therefore may be considered interchangeable with other terms such as ascetic. However, being generic, it is not interchangeable with terms that denote particular kinds of monk, such as cenobite, hermit, anchorite, hesychast, solitary.
The first famous Christian known to adopt the life in a desert was St. Anthony the Great (251-356). Anthony lived alone as an anchorite in the Egyptian desert until he attracted a circle of followers, after which he retired further into the desert to escape the adulation of men. He is said by St. Athanasius in his Life of Anthony to have been the first to go out into the desert for the sole purpose of pursuing God in solitude.
As the idea of devoting one’s entire life to God grew, more and more monks joined him, even in the far desert. Under St. Anthony’s system, they each lived in isolation. Later, loose-knit communities began to be formed, coming together only on Sundays and major feast days for Holy Communion. The concept of monks all living together under one roof and under the rule of a single person — that is, monasticism as such — is attributed to St Pachomius (c. 292-348). At this same time, St. Pachomius’ sister became the first woman to lead a monastery of women, or convent. Christian monasticism spread throughout the Eastern Roman Empire. At its height it was not uncommon for monasteries to house upwards of 30,000 monks.
As Christianity grew and diversified, so did the style of monasticism. In the East, monastic norms came to be regular. Monasticism came to be accepted in the West as well. In the beginning, Western monasticism followed much the same pattern as its Eastern forebears, but over time the traditions diversified.

You can try the Post Office in your area and see if they offer books to collect them in, or you can also check department stores like Wal-Mart or K-Mart that have hobby areas, sometimes they carry stuff like that. You can check in two areas of the store, in the hobby and crafts area and also in the stationary area, where they sell school supplies. Congrats on your collection.

You can buy them directly from Hobby Lobby, or go to their website here:
http://www.craftsetc.com/Store/ShowCategory.aspx?d=25&c=30&s=50
to see their full selection of stamp supplies/albums.
(Page 3 has the albums)
Have fun!
Answer by alvinrocksus
You can buy official albums from the nearest postal office to you. Ebay, stamp stores, and stamp dealers or companies on the web also have them.
Answer by EB Gal
The best variety of stamp albums I’m aware of is available at http://www.subwaystamp.com . I think Mystic Stamp Company also has a lot of choices. I don’t know their URL, but you can google them.
Try to stay away from albums that are fully bound, as there is no way to add to them. A loose-leaf album lets you add pages and keep it up-to-date.

mmm….10 months old??? we went to Asbury Park last summer because it was the closest beach for us. We live in Orange County NY. We went to the beach then walked on the boardwalk for abit. They have a nice water park there for young kids. It was fantastic, my kids are older but it was one of the best day trips we have ever taken. they went inthe ocean for abit, flew kites, played inthe sand, then we went to the water park…simple things, spouting water, sprinklers…no rides. It was so great because it was close to home…kind of and at the end of our day we went back to the waterpark to rince sand off the kids and they have showers and a place to change. Its not a water park but a sprinkler park and may be good for your child.
Van Saun County park may be fun. they have a zoo there and alot of other fun stuff to do, a playground…google it. Shouldn’t be to far from NYC.
we have a childrens museum here, we joined and can go to any museum in “the plan” there is a childrens museum in NYC..not sure where, I think it is near the Museum of Natural Histroy. It must be better than our childrens museum…..It is in NYC…and ours is great!
10 months is such a hard age to find “stuff to do”. Have fun this summer, next year you will have alot more options and alot of fun. Not that I am wishing your baby to get older but…at a year makes lot of difference…”fun wise” at this age. Next year plan a trip to Seaworld!!! We took my son at 2, he LOVED it, so much we have gone back 3 years in a row.
We took the trip to Mystic…ok but, not worth the long trip. The aquarium at coney island…not as good but fine at 10 months old, and alot closer to home.
If you get the membership to the bronx zoo..about $ 150 for the family for the year you can visit all the places included..the central park zoo the aquarium in coney island, I think there is one in statan islnad, bronx zoo. You are right there so the membership may be worth it for your family. If you go to one of the places once a month you will more than get your moneys worth, and be contributing to the National Wild Life socitey.

Watch this video on live mystic
In Conversation with the Mystic – Anupam Kher with Sadhguru [LIVE]
awesome
I want to see a discussion between Sam Harris,,Zakir Naik & Sadguru..
Could anybody make it possible…!!!???
The name of the band is ‘Sounds of Isha’
Have you had the opportunity to listen to what Sadhguru has to say or look into his humanitarian work? I’m also curious, have you been taken advantage of by someone in clothes you deemed “fancy”? What kind of clothing would you approve of before you feel there is no “front/behind”? Western style clothing? A t-shirt? It looks as if he’s wearing very natural linen and a natural material necklace. Thanks
What is the name of the band/ album? Lovely music.
You getting depressed is not a solution.
Afrikan traditional religions all state that what happens is a result of your actions.
seems like the video is not complete, In the end Respected Sadhguru ji was describing how his wife passed away because of not wearing the metal, after that video doesn’t work, Can you please point another link ,Thanks much, its a great show.
the universe created itself
the fancy clothes worry me. where’s there’s a big front, there’s usually a big ‘behind’
Is there another link. The sound and the video are not in sync 🙁
Please someone reply with the singer/band name of the music played in the beginning..
You mean you have a drawn conclusion about the matter, outside of personal experience.
Sadhguru is the only man I would call my Guru, even though I have not met him. he inspires me more than any other man alive. thank you for uploading this.
I think he hit the nail on the head, and answered the question perfectly.
Can somebody please let me know the album/band name etc for the music that is played towards the end of this video. I really want to know. Pls reply if you know. thanks.
Splendid, enriching but don’t believe in life leaving body voluntarily or maybe I’m ignorant and Sadhguru’s explanation just isn’t convincing me to feel I know understand it 🙂
Its a great experiance,a step forward in spirituality.
Yes I have the same question – who is the singer and the flute maestro? They are awesome
I listen to the songs atleast once every day 🙂 Its such a joy to hear it from the depth of its simplicity.
What is the name of the artist who sang for a first few minutes? Both his voice and the flutist’s rendition were extremely beautiful.
hey works for me, try again
Sub Titles Please!
Am listening still…!
video stops at 1:40:32. please rectify.
